Founded in 2014 by the Junior League of London, LBDI is a social media-driven awareness campaign and fundraiser.
For the whole week of November 12th-16th, our members will be wearing one black dress all week seeking to bring awareness around the limits that poverty places on members of the Reno community.
The Junior League of Reno is helping to put an end to poverty through this awareness campaign. Poverty limits resources, options, the ways one can express themselves—all making it harder to rise out of poverty.
Here are the facts:
-39.8% of single mothers in Reno live under the poverty line.
-19.4% of female residents live below the poverty line.
-11.7% of employed female residents live below the poverty line.
-16,000 households are considered at risk of becoming homeless.
-Nevada children rank 46th in economic well-being.
NOW more than ever, we need your help to end poverty in Reno for our community women and children.
